Oak Hollow Academic Data Summary

Rise

  • Oak Hollow increased RISE scores 5% over 2021 in all areas (Science, ELA, Math)
  • 3rd grade ELA, 5th grade Math, and 5th grade Science RISE results are some of the highest gains in the district from 2022 to 2023.

 

Acadience: ELA:(Goal 75% of students make typical growth or above)

 

  • 2nd grade, 4th grade, and 5th grade made the goal for growth.
  • Kindergarten and 5th grade improved their average growth from 21-22.
  • Morris had a class with 100% growth.
  • Quick had a class with 94% growth.

 

Math: (Goal 75% of students make typical growth or above)

  • 1st grade, 2nd grade, 4th grade, and 5th grade made the goal for growth.
  • Mallard’s class had 100% growth.
  • Keddington & Powell had 93% growth.

 

Acadience Growth for 1st grade is low district wide. CSD has decided to focus more on Whole Words Read. Will compare differences by end of year. (Should see improvement in Spring.)

 

**This year’s goal for 23-24 for Growth in Acadience is 77%.

 

 

Attendance proposed plan

  • Attendance has not rebounded since Covid. (9 or less absences a year.)
  • Goal is 60% of students on track for attendance this year.
  • Principal will share data with SCC, PTA and on the website.
  • Attendance rewards program using Perfect Attendance “Brag Tags” for each month. Students collect each month they have perfect attendance.

 

Group Discussion:

  • PTA overloaded

Science Fair, Science Night & Reflections- no chairs

  • Shayla Streiff & Ashleigh Spencer will do Reflections to help.
    • Ashley will find judges.
    • Shayla will do paperwork.
  • Discussed possible doing something with art.

 

Question raised about classroom libraries. LETRS training says no longer best practice.

  • Teachers can do it as an option in individual classes.
  • Books purchased last year for Wonder Program which we provide digital and books library for teacher access for students.

 

 

Cell Tower: Two towers on top of school which we receive annual funding of about $24,000

Proposed spending for this year was discussed

French cultural celebrations, Social Committee and Teacher incentive budget items have been cut from last year. Have 3 more aides on cell tower this year, since SCC amended TSSP last year to fund .5 5th grade teacher and the district provided other .5

Aides will be provided to 4th grade, 3rd and recess.

**Committee all in agreement for proposed Cell Tower funds.

 

Safety Plan

  • Suggestions on a safety box
  • Apps used: Screen, safety officers crossing guards.

 

Our school has incorporated walkies for all staff at Oak Hollow. Used as a tool for safety.

  • All members come up by next meeting with concerns they have.
  • Crossing Guard at top of hill, too close to intersection. Dangerous for the students.
    • Ashley will draft a letter to city with concerns.
  • Grant written for more cameras inside of school.
  • Invite crossing guards and safety officers to submit issues of concern and get their input.
  • Julie will send out district link to internet filters. Shauna Jensen, our digital citizenship coordinator will present at the next meeting.

 

Will come up with a safety plan and finalize by next meeting. Plan must be submitted by November 1st.

 

Next meeting: finalize safety plan & Digital Citizenship.
